WASHING
Care Instructions for DTG Printed and Embroidered Clothing
To preserve the quality and appearance of your Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printed and embroidered clothing, it's crucial to follow specific care guidelines. These items are delicate and require gentle handling to maintain their prints and embroidery. Here’s how to care for your DTG printed and embroidered garments effectively:
Washing Instructions
1. Turn Inside Out:
Always turn your DTG printed and embroidered clothing inside out before washing. This helps protect the print from friction and reduces wear on the embroidery.
2. Use Cold or Lukewarm Water:
Wash in cold water, ideally no higher than 30°C (86°F). High temperatures can fade the print, cause the fabric to shrink, and weaken the embroidery threads. Never exceed 30°C (86°F).
3. Choose a Gentle Cycle:
Use the gentle or delicate cycle on your washing machine. This minimizes agitation, protecting both the DTG print and the embroidery from damage.
4. Mild Detergent:
Use a mild detergent that is free from harsh chemicals and bleach. Strong detergents can damage the print and affect the colorfastness of the embroidery threads.
5. Avoid Fabric Softeners:
Fabric softeners can leave residues that may alter the feel of the fabric and affect the DTG print and embroidery threads. They are not recommended for these types of garments.
Drying Instructions
1. Avoid Tumble Drying: Tumble drying can damage both the print and embroidery due to heat and rough tumbling. If a dryer must be used, select the lowest heat setting and remove the garment while slightly damp to finish air drying.
2. Air Dry Preferred:
Lay the garment flat to dry or hang it in a shaded area. Keep it turned inside out to protect both the print and embroidery from direct sunlight, which can cause fading.
3. Avoid Direct Sunlight:
Direct sunlight can fade both the DTG print and the embroidery. Dry in a shaded, well-ventilated area.
Additional Care Tips
1. Ironing:
For DTG Prints:
If ironing is necessary, turn the garment inside out and use a low heat setting. Never iron directly on the print to prevent damage.
For Embroidery:
Place a thin cloth or towel over the embroidery and use a low heat setting. This prevents the threads from being flattened or melted by direct heat.
2. Avoid Bleach and Strong Chemicals:
Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals, as they can weaken the fabric, damage the print, and discolor the embroidery threads.
3. Spot Cleaning:
For small stains, spot clean using a mild detergent and a soft cloth. This reduces the need for frequent washing and helps maintain the garment’s integrity.
4. Handle with Care:
Be cautious when wearing and storing your DTG printed and embroidered clothing. Avoid rough surfaces and objects that might snag or rub against the fabric.
5. Inspect Before Washing:
Check for loose threads in the embroidery. Trim any long, loose threads carefully to prevent further unraveling during washing.
By adhering to these care instructions, you can ensure that your DTG printed and embroidered clothing remains vibrant, intact, and looking new for a long time. Proper care will preserve the quality of both the print and the embroidery, keeping your garments in excellent condition.
Best regards.
